How AI Coach suggestions work
5 min read · Updated 2026-07-15
Most finance apps hand you charts and leave you to work out what they mean. Spenzo’s AI Coach does the opposite: it reads your real numbers and tells you, in plain language, what to do next. Here’s how it works and what it can (and can’t) do.
What you’ll learn
- What the AI Coach actually is
- Where its suggestions come from
- How to ask it questions in plain English
- Why its answers match your dashboard
- Your privacy and staying in control
What the AI Coach is
The AI Coach is a friendly assistant built into Spenzo that reads your spending patterns and offers clear, actionable next steps. Think of it as a money-savvy friend who’s already looked at your numbers — not a dashboard full of graphs you have to interpret yourself.
It shows up in two ways: a daily insight tailored to what’s happening in your budget right now, and simple decision cards that suggest one concrete thing you could do — like easing off a category that’s running hot, or moving a little toward a savings goal.
Where its suggestions come from
Every suggestion is grounded in your real data: your income and pay cycle, your budget categories, what you’ve spent, upcoming bills, and your savings goals. The Coach doesn’t invent generic tips — it reasons about your actual situation.
Because it works from the same figures your dashboard shows, it can explain the “why” behind a number. Ask why today’s safe-to-spend dropped and it can point to a bill that’s now due before your next payday.
Ask it anything, in plain English
You don’t need to learn commands. Ask the way you’d ask a person:
- “How much can I safely spend today?”
- “Where did most of my money go this week?”
- “Am I on track for my holiday goal?”
- “What bills are coming up before payday?”
You can type your question or use voice — Spenzo listens, answers in plain language, and can read the answer back to you.
One source of truth
A common frustration with AI features is when the chatbot says one thing and the app shows another. Spenzo avoids that by design: the AI Coach reads the exact same safe-to-spend and budget figures as your dashboard. The guidance you get by chat or voice never contradicts what’s on screen.
Privacy and staying in control
The Coach is there to guide, not to act on its own. It never moves money or changes your budget without you — every suggestion is something you choose to accept or ignore. And as with the rest of Spenzo, your financial data is never sold. See our guide on security and privacy for the details.
Frequently asked questions
Is the AI Coach free?
The AI Coach is a Premium feature, included in your free 14-day trial so you can try it before subscribing.
Does the AI Coach match my dashboard?
Yes. It reads the same safe-to-spend and budget numbers your dashboard shows, so its guidance never contradicts what you see on screen.
Can the AI Coach change my budget on its own?
No. It only suggests next steps — you decide whether to act. It never moves money or edits your budget without you.
