Welcome to Spenzo. This guide takes you from sign-up to a working budget in about five minutes — no spreadsheets, no jargon, just a clear daily answer to “can I spend this?”
What you’ll learn
- Create your account and start your free trial
- Add your income source and payday
- Set up your first budget categories
- Log an expense or scan a receipt
- Check what’s safe to spend today
Step 1 — Create your account
Head to Spenzo and sign up with your email, or continue with Apple or Google. Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial of Premium, and you don’t need a card to explore it.
Once you’re in, Spenzo asks a few quick onboarding questions so it can tailor the experience — your currency (auto-detected from your region), your main goal, and how you like to see things.
Step 2 — Add your income and payday
This is the step that makes Spenzo different from a generic budgeting app. Instead of assuming a calendar month, Spenzo budgets around your real pay cycle.
Add an income source with the amount and how often you’re paid — weekly, bi-weekly or monthly — plus your next payday. From now on, your budget follows the money you actually receive.
Step 3 — Build your first budget
Create a few categories for how you spend — groceries, rent, transport, eating out, subscriptions — and set a planned amount for each. As you assign money, Spenzo shows your “not yet assigned” balance so every unit of currency has a job.
Don’t aim for perfect. A rough budget you actually use beats a precise one you abandon. You can adjust any category mid-cycle in seconds.
Step 4 — Log spending (or scan a receipt)
Add expenses as they happen. Tap to log one manually, or use the receipt scanner: point your camera at a receipt and Spenzo’s AI reads the merchant, amount, date and category for you.
You can also record income and transfers, and mark anything that repeats as recurring so it shows up in your bills view.
Step 5 — Check what’s safe to spend today
Open your dashboard and you’ll see the number that matters most: your safe-to-spend for today. It’s your remaining budget for the cycle, minus upcoming bills, divided across the days left — so it answers “is it okay to spend right now?” at a glance.
That’s it. You now have a working, pay-cycle budget and a daily spending answer. The AI Coach will start surfacing simple nudges as it learns your patterns.
